1. Who we are

Mark My Chemistry IA ("the Service", "we", "us") is an online tool that uses artificial intelligence to score IB Chemistry Internal Assessment reports against a marking rubric. The Service is available at markmychemistryia.com.

2. What data we collect

3. How we process your reports

When you upload a report, it is processed as follows:

• The text and images are extracted from your document on our server.
• The extracted content is sent to Anthropic's Claude AI via their API for scoring against the rubric criteria.
• Scoring results are stored in our database and returned to you.
• The original uploaded document is stored temporarily for re-scoring and teacher review purposes.

We do not use your reports to train AI models. Anthropic's API usage policy applies to content processed by their systems.

4. Sub-processors

We use the following third-party services to operate:

• Anthropic (Claude AI) — processes report text for scoring. Subject to Anthropic's usage policy.
• Stripe — processes payments. Subject to Stripe's privacy policy.
• Zoho Mail — sends transactional emails (results, notifications).

5. Users under 18

Many of our users are IB students who may be under 18. We collect only the minimum data necessary to provide the Service. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you are a student under 18, we recommend using the Service with the knowledge and consent of a parent, guardian, or teacher.

6. Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your account and associated data.
• Receive a copy of your data in a portable format.

7. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or advertising cookies.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed. Material changes will be notified through the Service.
